“I’m so grateful for this win”: Robina mum comes forward as mystery million-dollar Saturday Gold Lotto winner
A life-enhancing $1.2 million win in a recent Saturday Gold Lotto draw will serve as a much-needed ray of hope for a Robina mum and her family after she admitted to enduring tough times.
The Gold Coast woman held one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4403 on Saturday 30 September 2023. Each entry took home a $1,266,906.25 division one prize.
However, as the winning entry was not registered to a player card, we had no way of contacting the ticketholder and had to wait for them to check their tickets.
The Queenslander admitted to purchasing the ticket on a whim and at the very last minute when out shopping on the weekend.
“I’m in shock. I can’t believe it,” she happily cried.
“Thank you so much. You don’t know how much this means to me.
“I’m so grateful for this win. Wow, something has gone right for once!
“We’ve had a tough two years, and oh my god, you have absolutely no idea.
“This will take the pressure off for sure.
“I purchased this at the very last minute when I was leaving and I said to the team member at the newsagency, ‘give me this random ticket.’ I only play twice a year if that.
“I never in a million years would I have thought this would happen to me.
“This day can’t get any better.”
With $1.2 million about to land into her bank account and spark some joy for her final months of 2023, the gleeful woman shared the prize is the silver lining she had longed for.
“This will help my family in so many ways, especially my children,” she said.
“Thank you so much for changing our lives.”
Her winning entry was purchased at Paperboxx Robina, Shop 2012, Level 2, Robina Town Centre, 19 Robina Town Centre Drive, Robina Town Centre.
Paperboxx Robina team leader Harmony Rankin said she was thrilled to see the outlet score its first division one win.
“We couldn't believe it! We've sold a few division two winning tickets – including one in last Saturday's draw – but never a division one!” she said.
“Our regular customers who come in every week have been so excited to see that we've finally sold the big one! They've been saying they want to see a division one plaque up on our wall for a long time!
“We are so excited for the lucky customer, and we hope it went to someone who needed it and that it helps them out!”
