A Corio couple have confessed to being “a bit flabbergasted” after routinely checking their TattsLotto ticket, and discovering their entry scored them a $2.5 million division one win.

The Victorian players held one of three division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4107, drawn Saturday 28 November 2020. Each entry takes home a division one prize worth $2,579,223.01.

Sharing their disbelief with us this afternoon, the couple revealed they were oblivious to their win until they checked their ticket in-store.

“Thank you very much! Thank you!” the wife exclaimed.

“We’re a bit overwhelmed at the moment. We can’t believe it.

“We had no idea! We just checked our ticket today.

“We’ve played every week for the last 40 years, and we’ve never won anything like this.

“We won $1,200 about 30 years ago, which was fantastic at the time, but this is even better!

“When you say we are multi-millionaires, it sounds so strange. It doesn’t feel like us at all!

“We are a bit flabbergasted! I think we’ll have to go and get a cup of coffee and think it all through!”

When asked how they planned to enjoy their multi-million-dollar windfall, the happy duo joked they were willing to share it with each other.

“I might have to ask my husband if he’ll share it with me! He might just give me the $23,” the wife laughed.

There are no problems about that – I’ll take the rest,” the husband joked.

The pair also revealed it would go a long way towards making a memorable Christmas for their family.

“We’ve got four kids so they might be getting a very big Christmas present!” the wife declared.

“We’ll have to get something for ourselves as well. It hasn’t sunk in yet so we’ll have to think about it some more!”

The winning entry was sold at Corio Lucky Lotto, Shop G056, Corio Central, 83A Baccus Marsh Road, Corio.

Corio Lucky Lotto owner Jack Karpinski said the best part of his job was telling players they’d  won a major prize.

“It was a good feeling being able to tell our customers that they had won $2.5 million!” he exclaimed.

“They were sitting there like stunned mullets in shock. It felt great to be able to help them realise they were now multi-millionaires.

“It doesn’t need to be millions though! People love to win and get excited over smaller amounts and its always nice to break that great news.

“We wish our winners more good fortune, and we hope this win will help them and their family for a long time to come!”
