Whispers of a division one win in the region have helped unite a Yarram farmer with his $1.2 million TattsLotto prize.

The Gippsland man held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4091, drawn Saturday 3 October 2020. Each division one winning entry took home a prize of $1,227,293.97.

Speaking to our team to confirm his prize, the man recounted how he came to discover his million-dollar fortune.

“It was a bit of a surprise!” he exclaimed.

“I heard there was a winner in town and later in the afternoon I thought I’d have a look at my ticket. Wow!

“I’ve only ever won $23 now and then. This is unbelievable.

“I didn’t sleep at all last night. I was tossing and turning thinking about it all. A prize like this goes a long way!”

The long-time Lotto player revealed some plans for his prize had already begun to crystalise.

“First, I’ll pay off some of the loan. Then, I want to help the children buy their own homes,” he said.

“When we can travel again, we can’t wait to go around Australia and visit some of our family and friends.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 24-game QuickPick at Amcal Pharmacy Yarram, 199 Commercial Road, Yarram.

Amcal Pharmacy Yarram team leader Robyn Joyce said it was the second division one winning entry her outlet had sold during the past two months.

“I can’t believe we’ve sold another one so soon after the last one. That was only eight weeks ago!” she said.

“We’re so excited for the winner and hope the win gives them an easier life.

“We’ll be celebrating ourselves and wishing the best of luck to all our customers. Who knows, perhaps we’ll do it again soon!
