A young Campbellfield man has woken up with ‘butterflies in his stomach’ after realising his life has changed forever with a Set for Life prize of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

The Melburnian in his 20s held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 3266, drawn Monday 15 July 2024.

He can look forward to a total division one prize of $4.8 million, paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

The victorious Victorian shared he purchased his ticket minutes before the draw’s close time and today thanked his lucky stars for doing so.

“Thank you so much,” he laughed.

“I’ve been waiting for your call!

“I have butterflies in my stomach. It’s so unexpected.

“I bought the ticket at the very last minute, and I nearly didn’t go through with it!

“It wasn’t until I was going to bed last night around 11pm that I decided to see how my ticket went. I was expecting division four or five, not division one!

“I’ve already shared the news with my parents and some close friends; they were all so happy for me.

“Normally I would mark my own lottery numbers, but I decided to switch it up to a QuickPick because my numbers weren’t doing much.

“Thank you so much.”

With $20,000 about to land into his bank account on the 15th of every month for the next two decades, the jubilant university student shared he would invest the prize for the future and pay off his degree.

“I haven’t thought of any immediate plans just yet but I’m thinking I might invest the prize,” he revealed.

“I’m also studying my master’s degree and will need to pay off my student loans.

“Maybe I’ll buy a house, go on a holiday and also a new car but I need to have a think about it all.

“We have plans to celebrate tonight with a nice dinner.”

His winning 2-game QuickPick was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
