Glen Waverley woman’s gym workout ends with heart-racing $4.8 million Set for Life win
It wasn’t just a Glen Waverley woman’s Monday morning gym session that left her feeling numb and sent her heart racing, but the revelation she won division one in last night’s Set for Life draw.
The Victorian held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Set for Life draw 3342 on Sunday 29 September 2024. She won $4.8 million paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 over 20 years.
“I’m standing in the middle of a carpark, and I’ve just checked my ticket!” she exclaimed.
“I literally just finished my gym workout and saw I had these missed calls.
“Normally, I get my Set for Life entry every Friday – you’ve got to have hope, don’t you? It’s nice to dream big. Human beings have got to have a little hope. But I never expected to win more than maybe $11!
“It allows me to make decisions. Freedom is what it allows me. But my first priority will be to see a financial planner.
“I’ve been saving for a house so this will certainly help.
“I’m reeling… but also feel numb! You just never expect it to happen to you.
“I’m going to have to go to work today and breeze through and act normal.
“Thank you for this. This changes everything!”
The woman’s winning 10-game QuickPick was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
