Guildford retiree forgot about Set for Life ticket that delivered her a $4.8 million win
A Guildford retiree who completely forgot about purchasing her Set for Life ticket has received the shock of a lifetime when we called her about her $4.8 million windfall.
The Sydney resident held the only division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 2830, drawn Saturday 6 May 2023.
She takes home the division one prize of $4.8 million, paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.
“I’m absolutely astounded,” she revealed when speaking with us.
“I had completely forgotten that I’d bought a Set for Life ticket for last week, so this is a complete shock!
“I thought maybe someone was messing with me, so I had to share the news with my nephew so he could help me out.
“Initially, he thought it might be some sort of scam. But once he realised the truth, he couldn’t contain his excitement and joined in the celebration!
“Set for Life is my favourite game, and I’ve faithfully played for a few years, so it’s nice to have finally won the big prize.”
With $20,000 about to boost her bank account on the 15th of every month, the New South Wales player was ready to make some small but mighty dreams a reality.
“I’d like to treat myself to a new computer,” she shared.
“I will contribute towards a holiday for my beloved nephew as well and look after some other loved ones.
“This prize will undoubtedly open the doors to so many things and make life so enjoyable.”
The winning woman purchased her marked 10-game entry online via OzLotteries.com – one of The Lott’s authorised resellers.
