Suspected prank turns into Set for Life First Prize win for Carlingford mum!
An emotional Carlingford mum is happily celebrating her Set for Life First Prize win after today discovering what she initially thought was a prank, was actually true.
The New South Wales player held the only First Prize winning entry in Set for Life draw 1491, drawn Thursday 5 September 2019 and takes home $20,000 a month for 20 years. It is the third Set for Life First Prize win in four weeks.
We called the woman this afternoon to break the news, who erupted in tears of joy.
“Are you joking? Please don’t tell me this is a prank!” she cried happily.
“Oh my god! Oh my god!
“I’m so shocked!
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!
“You have made my day, my year, my life!
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
“You don’t know how much this means to me.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the happy woman admitted she had plenty of plans.
“I will celebrate with my family tonight. We will go out for a nice dinner,” she said.
“I’m going to buy my kids something as soon as the money is in my account.
“I’m going to pay off some bills and I want to go on a big holiday to America too.
“Of course I’ll share some with my family, they’re my whole world. I can’t wait to break the news to them! They won’t believe me.”
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 2-SET entry at Carlingford Court Newsagency, Shop 119, 801-809 Pennant Hills Road, Carlingford.
Carlingford Court Newsagency employee Brandon Lu said the outlet was celebrating making one their customers a First Prize winner.
“We are so excited,” he said.
“It’s been celebrations instore all day and we have been sharing this wonderful news with our customers.
“We have sold a few major prizes in the past, but we were certainly due for another.
“We are thrilled for our winner and wish her all the best. Congratulations!”
