A Dubbo mother is looking forward to kickstarting some long-awaited home renovations after winning a top prize of $1,000 a week for five years on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket. 

The winning $5 Live the Life ticket was purchased from Coonamble Supa IGA, 63 Aberford Street, Coonamble. 

Speaking with us this morning, the elated woman said she was still on cloud nine. 

“It’s amazing!” she shared.

“My husband and I still can’t believe it! We never thought things like this would happen to us. 

“Initially, we had won $28 on some Instant Scratch-Its tickets and decided to purchase some more tickets with the winnings. 

“When we came home from shopping, we scratched them in the kitchen surrounded by our family. That’s when we thought we might’ve won a top prize!

“We didn’t know if it was real, but it was! We were taken aback. 

“This has come in handy just in time for Christmas.” 

When asked how the couple planned to enjoy their weekly prize instalments, the overjoyed woman said it would go towards house renovations. 

“For the last couple of years, we really wanted to complete some renovations on the house,” she revealed. 

“This will take a while to sink in.” 

Coonamble Supa IGA team member Ann Pawley said the team was feeling elated for the winner. 

“It’s great news! We’re so happy,” she said. 

“I believe it’s the first Instant Scratch-Its top prize we’ve had. I hope it’s the start to many more!
