A Liverpool man was on the hunt for a new home, a Saturday Lotto entry and little snack when he spontaneously scratched an Instant Scratch-Its ticket and won a whopping $250,000.

The top prize-winning $10 MONOPOLY Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Liverpool Plaza Newsagency, Shop 26, Liverpool Plaza, 165-191 Macquarie Street, Liverpool. 

“This is great mate! It still hasn’t sunk in,” the winning man laughed when we confirmed his windfall.

“I’m honestly still in a state of shock!

“I was getting some lunch, doing a little bit of house hunting, and thought I’d stop in and purchase a Saturday Lotto entry over the weekend.

“While I was there, I noticed this Instant Scratch-Its ticket and thought I’d get one too for a bit of fun.

“I started scratching away at it almost immediately and as I revealed number after number, I realised I’d hit a major prize!”

When asked how he planned to celebrate his prize, the man had no doubt he’d be treating his family to a wonderful holiday.

“I’ll take the family overseas in the next few months. Bali or somewhere in Malaysia would be incredible,” he said.

“Before that, we’ll be going out for a celebratory dinner and I’ll have to start hunting for a new car as well as our new home.

“I’ll also put a little bit away for the future. It’s just great to know we’re secure moving forward.”

The Liverpool Plaza Newsagency team said they were over the moon to have sold a top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket and wished their winner all the best for the future.
