A Kingswood mum is thanking ‘Mother Mary’ and fine-dining her way into the weekend after an Instant Scratch-Its ticket landed her a $25,000 top-prize win.

The $2 Christmas Cash Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Arkaba Pharmacy, Shop 7/ 150 Glen Osmond Road, Fullarton.

“I’m over the moon! I can't believe it. I never win anything!” the South Australian resident cheered when we reached out to her.

“I play Instant Scratch-Its now and then if I’m walking past a newsagency and think I’m feeling lucky.

“Funnily enough, I usually will only ever get a $1 ticket, but I liked the look of the Christmas tree design on the $2 Christmas Cash ticket so that’s why I bought it instead.

“I actually put the ticket in front of a picture of Mother Mary and I said ‘Mary, do your thing!

“Then when I scratched it, I thought, ‘Nah, surely Mary didn’t do that!’. Ha!

“I thought it had to be a mistake or I had to be reading it wrong.

“I even showed my children, and sure enough, they went wide-eyed, just like me.

“When I went into the head office to claim the prize, I was still so unsure if I had actually won.

“It’s amazing. I’m going to treat myself to an expensive dining night and not worry about the price!

“Then, I’ll use some for bills and I’d love to book a small holiday somewhere.

“I haven’t been on a holiday for years so a little weekend away, even just here in South Australia. That sounds great.”
