Local Orange man to spoil his beloved mother with $100,000 Instant Scratch-Its windfall
A man from Orange is preparing to spoil his mother with a string of surprises after uncovering a $100,000 Instant Scratch-Its prize earlier this week.
The Central Tablelands resident’s winning $5 Crosswords Adventure was purchased at Orange Central Newsagency, Metro Plaza Shop, Shop 23, 277 Summer Street, Orange.
The winning man was still reeling in disbelief when we called him to confirm the win.
“I’m still in shock to be honest,” he laughed.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes when I discovered the win. I think I spent three hours going over my ticket again and again.
“It wasn’t until my partner got home and checked the ticket that the penny dropped.
“This is the most money we’ve ever seen in our lives. It’s a once-in-a-blue-moon experience.
“It feels like someone is looking out for me from above.”
With $100,000 soon to grace his bank account, the down-to-earth man shared he would be using his prize to look after his mother and thank her for everything she’s done for him.
“I’m going to be spoiling my mother for sure and she won’t be able to say no,” he said.
“She has done so much for me; I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for her.
“As for myself, it’s a lot to comprehend and I already have everything I need.
“It will be nice to not have to worry about bills and other expenses that pop up here and there.”
Orange Central Newsagency owners Gary and Jennifer Allen said they were over the moon to have sold the top prize-winning ticket and to have been the first port of call to validate the prize.
“We’re so excited that we’ve sold another major prize to a local customer in the Orange community,” Gary said.
“It’s been over two years since we sold our last top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket and feel it was about time for another one.
“We’ve had an amazing past 12 months with winners across all divisions and draws. We have a collection of winning plaques growing on our wall and we couldn’t be prouder."
