Lake Munmorah man mesmerised by $25,000 Instant Scratch-Its top prize
A Lake Munmorah man has described winning $25,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket as ‘surreal’, admitting it’s the most he’s ever won in his life.
The $2 top prize winning MONOPOLY Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Newspower Lake Munmorah, Shop 10, 275 Pacific Highway, Lake Munmorah.
When we reached out to the New South Welshman, he was still recovering from the shocking revelation.
“I’m still stunned – it’s the best way to describe it!” he cheered.
“It’s a bit of a routine to go to the newsagency while I’m doing my usual shop. I enjoy playing the Instant Scratch-Its tickets. I might win $10 here and there and reinvest.
“I won a free ticket on a different Instant Scratch-Its ticket and decided to put it back into more tickets. The first ticket from the bundle was the winning one worth $25,000!
“Surprisingly, I almost chose another Instant Scratch-Its ticket instead of this winning one – thankfully I didn’t!
“It’s the most I’ve ever won in my entire lifetime. I won $300 on a Powerball ticket a few months ago, and I thought that was amazing!”
With $25,000 about to boost his bank account, the regular player shared it would help him minimise his mortgage.
“This will take a lump out of our mortgage repayments, which is wonderful,” he exclaimed.
“We might celebrate with a bottle of bubbly and have our daughter over!”
Newspower Lake Munmorah manager Sharon Goodwin said her team were incredibly excited to sell a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket, precisely one year on from selling a division one winning entry.
“We’re super excited to have sold another top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket and even better to hear it’s gone to a regular customer,” he said.
“We sold a division one winning entry this time last year in March, so I knew we were due for another major lottery prize!
“A big congratulations to the winning man and his family. We hope this windfall allows you to fulfil many dreams and thank you for supporting Newspower Lake Munmorah.”
