Good karma comes around to Rockhampton man with $300,000 Instant Scratch-Its win
A Rockhampton man believes his philosophy of ‘giving back’ is responsible for his life-enhancing $300,000 Instant Scratch-Its win.
The top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at newsXpress Rockhampton, Shop 9, 305 Richardson Road, North Rockhampton.
Sharing his excitement with us this morning, the Central Queenslander relayed how the instant windfall came about.
“I’m so happy! It’s made my year!” he cheered.
“I’ve been helping my mother-in-law in and out of hospital lately, and the other day we were there for quite some time, so I purchased an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
“I scratched the Instant Scratch-Its ticket, and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I never expected to win $300,000!
“My mother-in-law said to me, ‘Well, you probably got that win for helping me!’. I guess we can go with that.
When asked how he planned to enjoy his instant win, the hard-working man said he had a couple plans in mind.
“Firstly, we will put it towards some house renovations that we’ve been wanting to do for a while. We also might reward ourselves with an interstate holiday and celebrate the win,” he shared.
“This has also brought my retirement plans forward, which means I can retire earlier than expected. It’s great!”
newsXpress Rockhampton manager Leonie Gillett said she was pleased to have sold another top prize Instant Scratch-Its ticket to a regular customer.
“It’s wonderful news and even better that it has gone to a regular customer who continually supports us!” she shared.
“He came into the outlet when he discovered his top prize win to confirm he won $300,000, and we were all so happy for him.
“We sold a $200,000 top prize Instant Scratch-Its ticket a couple of years ago, so we do hope this is the start to a winning streak!
“Congratulations to our winner, and we wish him all the best with his prize.”
