A Penguin woman is planning to celebrate her $150,000 Instant Scratch-Its win from a ticket she received as a Christmas gift with “cake and champagne”. 

The top prize winning $10 Unwrap the Cash ticket was purchased at Ulverstone Lucky Lotto, 28 Reiby Street, Ulverstone. 

Speaking with our team this morning, the elated winner explained the win was a perfect Christmas treat. 

“I received this ticket from a friend for Christmas,” she explained. 

“When I scratched it, I couldn’t believe my eyes!

“I put my shoes on and went straight to the newsagency. I had to get it checked straight away, otherwise I’d feel sick not knowing! 

“When they told me I won, I started shaking! It was uncontrollable. I just was in complete shock that I really had won. 

“I still can’t believe it. 

“It made my Christmas even more special! It’s an amazing Christmas present. It’s one I will never forget. 

“Once I get the money, I am sure there will be lots of tears. 

“I am going to celebrate with some cake and champagne too!” 

When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the emotional winner had no hesitation. 

“There are a few things I would like to do around the house,” she shared. 

“My car is pretty old too, so I would like to upgrade that as well.” 

Ulverstone Lucky Lotto assistant manager Shantel Triffett said the team couldn’t be happier for their winner.
