“I can help my daughter!”: Canberra man set to share the love after bagging $720,000 Lotto Strike prize
A Canberra man has cried with joy after discovering he’d won more than $720,000 in last night’s Lotto Strike draw, explaining he was over the moon to be able to help his family.
The winning man held the only division one winning entry in Lotto Strike draw 5302 on Monday 3 July 2023 and pocketed the entire $729,938.60 prize.
“Holy smokes! Oh, you’re kidding!” he yelled when we called to confirm his windfall.
“I can help my daughter! I can help my whole family!
“Oh my god, this is amazing.
“It’s so hard for everyone at the moment with the cost of living continuously rising, and my family is no exception.
“To think I’m crying to a stranger on the phone! I just can’t believe that I’ll be able to make my family’s lives so much easier.
“My mum used to tell me that I’d win one day. I’m not sure if I ever believed her but I kept playing.
“What an incredible thing to happen!”
When asked what else he’d do with his wonderful prize, the shocked winner explained he was keen to support some worthy causes.
“I’ll have to donate some of the prize,” he said.
“Everyone is doing it tough and if I can help a few other charities and families out, I will.
“Thank you so much.”
His winning 7-game QuickPick was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
