Taree woman still coming to terms with her multi-millionaire status
A Taree mum is thanking a last-minute decision for her multi-million-dollar Lotto Strike win, revealing she almost didn’t play her marked entry in Saturday night’s draw.
The Mid North Coast resident held the only division one winning entry across Australia in Lotto Strike draw 4797 on Saturday 11 April 2020, taking home $2 million.
Confirming her win with us this morning, the woman admitted she thought it was all a dream.
“It’s just weird. It’s absolutely surreal. It doesn’t feel real!” she laughed.
“Oh my god. It’s just so amazing!
“I was quite convinced on Saturday night when I checked my ticket that I was seeing things and when I woke up on Sunday morning I definitely thought I had dreamt the whole lot!
“I’ve been playing those numbers for forever and a day!
“I wasn’t even going to put the entry in on the weekend! It was a last-minute decision on Saturday. It was the luckiest thing!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, she had one thing on her mind.
“I’ve got children and family that I will be able to help out,” she said.
“It will be a wonderful feeling!
“I’ll be able to spend plenty of time volunteering and just relaxing.
“When everything has calmed down, we will do plenty of travelling around Australia next year!”
The thrilled woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her 5-game marked entry at Old Bar Newsagency, Shop 1, 47 Old Bar Road, Old Bar.
