A Daylesford pensioner thought it would be years until he finally paid off his mortgage until he scored a surprise division one prize in the weekend’s Super 66 draw.

The Victorian held one of the two division one winning entries in Super 66 draw 4403 on 30 September 2023. Each division one winning entry scored $81,673.05.

When we called the winner the morning after the draw, he’d only just discovered his good fortune.

“I’m very, very good!” he cried.

“You’ve got a good job calling everyone up. I only just found out.

“I was just looking at the draw results and… bang – there it was! I had to pinch myself. I thought, ‘am I dreaming?’.

“When the Super 66 jackpot gets up a bit, I play it… and it’s paid off! It’s a game with a good chance of winning and I did win!

“I’m going to be mortgage-free – that will be a dream come true. I thought I wasn’t going to finish paying it off until a few years’ time, but not anymore!

“It will also be nice to have a little bank balance for emergencies!”
