Gladstone man celebrates Super 66 division one with a cup of tea
A Gladstone man is celebrating winning more than $129,000 with a cup of tea, after taking home Saturday’s Super 66 division one prize pool.
The Queensland entry was the only division one winning entry nationally in Super 66 draw 3915 on Saturday 26 January 2019, and takes home a total prize of $129,346.75.
When speaking to us this morning, the man revealed how he discovered his good fortune.
“I jumped on the website to check my numbers yesterday, like I regularly do,” he explained.
“I was absolutely shocked when I realised my entry matched the numbers that had been drawn.
“I had to keep double checking. It took all day for the news to sink in!”
The man revealed he had been playing Super 66 for decades and this wasn’t the first time the game had delivered a major win.
“I’ve been playing Super 66 every week since 1981,” he said.
“I’ve won $6,666 years ago, a very long time ago.
“This is my lucky game, that’s for sure!
“I think I might have a cup of tea to celebrate and think about how I should spend my prize.
“It will come in handy that’s for sure.”
The winning five game entry was purchased at Gladstone Newsagency, Shop 1, 93 Goondoon Street, Gladstone.
Gladstone Newsagency owner Sonya Sims said she was over the moon when she discovered her outlet had sold a division one winning entry.
“Our regular customers have been saying it was time for a big win here, as we hadn’t had one since taking over the business in 2017,” she explained.
“I’m so glad it has finally happened and I can’t wait to share the news and excitement with our regular customers. They will be thrilled to know we’re on the winners list again.
“We hope this prize helps our winner achieve all his dreams!”
