Palmerston woman eyes international getaway after $52,000 win
A Palmerston woman is eyeing off an international getaway after discovering she is now over $52,000 richer from scoring division one in Saturday’s Super 66 draw.
The thrilled winner holds one of the two division one winning entries in Super 66 draw 3947, drawn Saturday 18 May 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $52,942.80.
Despite our attempts to contact her all morning to confirm the life-changing news, the winner shared she was completely unaware of her win until she checked her ticket during her lunch break.
“Wahoo!” she exclaimed excitedly once the win was confirmed.
“I just checked my ticket at the newsagent. I was very surprised.
“I had no idea at all that I was holding a winning entry.
“I play TattsLotto every week and just add Super 66 to my Saturday games.
“I’ve been lucky to have won a large amount before. I won a big divisional prize in Thursday Powerball.
“I think I’m lucky every now and then!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her Super 66 windfall, the Darwin local said she thought a South East Asian getaway was on the cards.
“I think I’ll do up the house and go off on a holiday!” she laughed.
“I’m thinking somewhere overseas – maybe Bali.
“I’ve got lots of kids and grandkids so they will be spoilt too.”
The hard-working woman also revealed celebrations would have to go on hold.
“I’ve got to head back to work so I won’t be doing anything today to celebrate,” she laughed.
“Maybe tonight or on the weekend when the news has sunk in a bit I’ll be able to celebrate.”
The winning entry was purchased from Oasis News & Lotto, Shop 16 Palm City Oasis Shopping Centre, 15 Temple Terrace, Palmerston.
Oasis News & Lotto owner June Watteau said she was thrilled one of her regular customers and a local to the area had scored a major prize.
“It’s very exciting to have had a winner in the store!” she exclaimed.
“It doesn’t happen often so it’s fantastic when it does.
“Everyone is doing it pretty tough around Palmerston and Darwin at the moment so it’s great to see a local get a little bit of help.
“This is our fourth division one winning entry we’ve sold. The last was about eighteen months ago so it’s great to have broken the drought a bit.
“We wish our customer all the best with their win!”
