North Shore man gone fishing after snagging Super 66 win
A North Shore man says he’ll be spending plenty more time fishing on his brand new boat after coming forward to claim Townsville’s latest division one prize.
The North Queenslander held the only division one winning entry across Australia in Super 66 draw 4049 on Saturday 9 May 2020. The entry won a division one prize of $327,064.35.
Confirming the exciting news with us this morning, the man explained his wife had alerted him to the fact he could be holding a winning ticket.
“Oh it feels good to hear that, I can tell you that!” he laughed.
“Thank you very much.
“My wife called me this morning and told me that she thought I could be the winner you were searching for.
“So I’ve just gone into the newsagency to check my ticket and it’s me.
“I’ve been playing Super 66 for a long time so it’s great to win big.
“It’s fantastic. I am absolutely over the moon!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his Super 66 win, the man said he wouldn’t be worrying about another bill.
“I’ll be paying the mortgage off, it will be incredible to not have to worry about that bill ever again,” he said.
“I’ll probably buy my wife a new boat. My wife and I always go fishing together so there will be plenty more of that.
“I can’t wait!”
The winning entry was purchased at North Shore Newsagency & Gifts, Shop 10, Stockland North Shore Shopping, 20-38 Main Street, North Shore.
North Shore Newsagency & Gifts owner Robert Amisano said he was thrilled the winner had checked their ticket and discovered the news.
“We’re so happy to see another Townsville local pick up an incredible lottery prize,” he said.
“We hope the winning streak continues here for our local and loyal customers.
“Congratulations to him, we hope he really enjoys his prize!”
