Ten days after the draw Bullaburra woman discovers “scam” $200,000 win is actually real
A Bullaburra woman admitted she ignored emails from The Lott informing her of a $200,000 win, assuming they were scams, but now, ten days after the draw, she’s finally discovered those emails were actually real.
The Blue Mountains woman won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1507, drawn Friday 20 November 2020.
When we finally spoke to the woman this morning, she explained why it took her so long to discover her win.
“I am very well after this revelation,” she laughed.
“I actually had no idea I’d won. No idea whatsoever!
“I’d received some emails about the win, but I just thought they were just scams, so I deleted them.
“It wasn’t until I received the letter in the mail, that I decided to actually check my online The Lott account.
“I was surprised how calm I was when I saw the win pop up on my phone.
“My husband was sitting on the couch and I showed him my phone and said ‘What do you think of this?’.
“He just gasped!
“It certainly came as a nice surprise, especially right before Christmas.
“It still feels very surreal.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the overjoyed woman admitted she had a few ideas.
“We are going to keep most of it for our retirement,” she said.
“I would also like to do a few things to our bathroom and kitchen as well.”
The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry of three random numbers online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
