All systems go! Oz Lotto jackpots to $25 million
For Australians vying to become the next Oz Lotto division one winner, there’s one entry type you need to know about.
It’s the type that gives you the option to play more numbers for a greater chance to win and in the past three years, has made the most Oz Lotto division one winners.
It is of course, a System entry!
One-in-five Oz Lotto division one winning entries from the past three years have been System entries, and more specifically, System 8 entries have shown particularly strong form.
Just last month, a Sunshine Coast man became a multi-millionaire when his System 8 entry took out a division one share in the massive $80 million Oz Lotto draw.
The winner’s System 8 QuickPick entry also won division three seven times, bolstering his total prize to a massive $40,028,726.60.
So, what is a System entry, and how could it give you the chance to win big in this week's $25 million Oz Lotto draw?
Read on to find out!
What is a System entry?
Oz Lotto requires seven winning numbers to win division one so a standard entry gives you seven numbers in a single game panel. However, a System entry allows you to play more numbers in each game panel.
The type of System entry you play relates to how many numbers you want in each game panel. A System 8 means you select eight numbers, a System 17 means you select 17 numbers, and so on up to a System 20.
How does it work?
A System entry is like playing lots of standard games and gives you more chances to win across multiple prize divisions.
If for example, you play a System 8, you select the eight numbers you would like to play, and your entry will cover all possible seven-number combinations from your selection.
The combinations you get from a single System-8 entry is equivalent to playing eight standard games. A System 9 entry gives you 36 combinations and is therefore equivalent to 36 standard games. You can find more info about calculating the combinations from different System entries here.
How to play
There are many ways you can play a System entry. Once you choose what System entry you would like, you can have your numbers randomly generated as a QuickPick or you can mark your own numbers. System entries are available instore, online or via the Lott app.
However you choose to play, the important thing to remember is that you need to be in it for the chance to win it. Make sure to get your entries in before the draw closes at 7:30pm AEST on Tuesday 30 July.
