“Bloody hell!”: Salisbury man’s shock after discovering $2.4 million Oz Lotto win
A Salisbury man in his 40s has explained he never expected to receive a phone call informing him he’d won $2.4 million in Oz Lotto, and when it happened he didn’t know what to say.
The South Australian was the only division one winner nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1397, drawn Tuesday 24 November 2020 and takes home the entire division one prize pool of $2,496,744.04.
When we broke the news to the winner this morning, he couldn’t contain his excitement.
“Bloody hell! Are you serious? Wow! That’s amazing! Thank you so much!” he exclaimed.
“Wow! I’m a little bit shocked and shaking, to be honest. I didn’t expect to hear that when I answered the phone.
“Wow! Thank you! It feels amazing to know that I’ll be a multi-millionaire. I don’t know what to say!
“My god!
“I play regularly but not always Oz Lotto. I play something different every week and just grab a QuickPick.
“I never thought I’d win a prize like this!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his multi-million-dollar windfall, the small business owner said he was looking forward to taking a step back from the grind.
“The first thing I’ll do is pay off the home loan. It will be done and dusted!” he declared.
“My partner and I run our own business, and we’ve been working extremely hard at the moment to get it going. This will make it just much easier and take the pressure off.
“It will be great to cut back down on work a little bit.
“I’m sure my other half will convince me to take a holiday too!
“I’ve got a busy day ahead at work with clients so I can’t take the rest of the day off work.
“I’m going to call my partner right now and tell her the good news. She probably won’t believe me!
“We’ll definitely be getting takeaway tonight to celebrate!”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
