Lots of tears and plenty of cheers for Logan grandmother after $10 million Oz Lotto windfall
A Logan grandmother burst into tears this morning and thanked her late mother for watching over her after discovering she’d bagged $10 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.
The Queensland resident held the only division one winning entry in Oz Lotto draw 1542 on 5 September 2023. She takes home $10 million.
“It was the fourth game on my entry that won, and the number four was my mum’s lucky number. It feels like she’s been looking down on me and thought we needed a helping hand,” the winning woman laughed when we called to confirm her windfall.
“Oh my god, this is amazing!
“My emotions have completely taken hold of me now. I’m so sorry for crying but I don’t know what else to do!
“How are you meant to react when you’ve won this much money?
“Oh my goodness. Okay, the first thing I’ll do is make sure my husband retires.
“He’s worked so hard for so long, he really deserves it.
“Then I can make sure my children and grandchildren are set up for life!
“I’m just so happy I can help them get ahead and be comfortable.
“We’re not lucky people so this is absolutely shocking. But I’m sure my mum played a part in this and is looking down on us smiling.
“Thank you so much. This will change our lives!”
The winning entry was purchased at Nextra Hyperdome News, Shop 128 Logan Hyperdome, Pacific Highway, Loganholme.
Nextra Hyperdome News Manager Karen Connell said the team were jumping for joy this morning at the news they’d sold another division one winning entry.
“This is absolutely wonderful. We’ve had a couple of division one wins in the last year or two but nothing as big as this!” she said.
“There’s a buzz around the store, the staff are ecstatic and customers have already come in and congratulated us on selling a division one winning entry.
“We’d like to congratulate our winners and hope they enjoy their new lives and everything that comes with it!”
