New Farm couple come forward to claim their almost $6 million Oz Lotto prize
The search for Brisbane’s newest multi-millionaire is over, with a New Farm couple this morning checking their Oz Lotto ticket to discover they’d woken up almost $6 million richer!
The overwhelmed pair held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1380 on Tuesday 28 July 2020.
Each division one winning entry takes home $5,865,030.22.
Confirming their life-changing win with us, the man revealed he checked the ticket just before he was about to jump into the car and head to work.
“Thank you,” he eventually managed.
“I haven’t been able to sit down.
“We’re so overwhelmed.
“I checked the ticket at around 9:30 this morning, just before I was about to head into work. Of course I didn’t go after that!
“I just couldn’t believe it. I thought there had to be some mistake.
“It’s surreal, we can’t get our head around it.
“I think it’s safe to say my wife and I are very much in shock.”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their almost $6 million prize, the man said they had plenty of planning to do.
“This prize changes everything,” he explained.
“This will give us so much relief and financial freedom!
“We will both keep working, but I don’t think we will work as hard!
“The rest though, we will just have to wait and see.
“It’s a lot to process!”
The division one winning entry was purchased at Premier News & Casket, Shop 5, 83 Merthyr Road, New Farm.
Premier News & Casket owner David Dunley said he and his team were happy to hear the winner had claimed their massive multi-million-dollar win.
“We’re so glad to hear they’ve checked their ticket and claimed their prize,” he said.
“About three months ago we sold a 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot, which was $100,000. This one blows that one out of the water!
“It’s been ages since our last big division one win so it’s great to see the action back in New Farm!”
