Croydon Park man ‘still digesting’ $1.3 million Keno win
A Croydon Park man has confessed to ‘still digesting’ the life-changing news he is now a millionaire after scoring a Keno Spot 10 prize while out at lunch.
The Adelaide man scored a Keno 10 Spot prize worth $1,301,565.70 in draw 2594490, drawn Sunday 23 February 2020.
The stoked bloke was visiting the Challa Gardens Hotel for lunch when he decided to play some Keno but was completely oblivious to his win as he did not see it on the Keno screen.
“I went down to the hotel for lunch and thought I’d play a bit of Keno while I was there,” he explained.
“I was in a different part of the hotel at the time, so I didn’t see the numbers come up on the screen.
“It wasn’t until the bar manager came out and told us that someone had won that I decided to check my tickets.
“I checked my ticket and the counter staff were all running around once they realised I had won.
“It was very surreal!”
When asked how the thrilled winner planned to enjoy his Keno windfall, he confessed he was still overwhelmed by the news.
“I don’t know if the news has sunk in yet,” he laughed.
“I’m definitely still digesting the news.
“I’m not really sure how I will spend it other than helping my out family and friends.
“I’m going to get financial advice from the bank so I can make the win work for me when I get paid.
“Until then, I’m going to celebrate with a few drinks!”
The happy man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno Spot 10 entry at Challa Gardens Hotel, 337 Torrens Road, West Croydon.
Challa Gardens Hotel hotel manager Tony Frangie said he was thrilled a regular customer had won a major prize.
“Everyone at the hotel is extremely happy that a local and a regular to the hotel scored a major prize,” he said.
“It was a great atmosphere in the hotel when we realised we had a winner.
“It’s the biggest prize we’ve ever sold and the first major win we’ve had for a few years so we are thrilled.
“Congratulations to our winner. We wish him all the best with his win!”
