Whyalla retiree shaking at the knees after $1.6 million Keno Spot 10 win
A retired Whyalla man is looking forward to “sinking a few cold ones” this afternoon as he celebrates scoring a Keno Spot 10 prize worth $1,664,117.50 in draw 2565599, drawn Monday 2 December 2019.
The happy Whyalla local was visiting Eyre Hotel for lunch when he saw his winning numbers come up on the Keno screen.
“I’m still shaking at the knees! I can’t believe it!” he exclaimed.
“I saw the numbers come up on the screen. I couldn’t believe all 10 numbers came up.
“A few years ago I won $10,000 on a QuickPick entry so I made note of the numbers and have used them every time since.
“They’ve definitely come good!
“I’m glad I walked down to the pub to get lunch because now I can have a couple of beers to celebrate!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his Keno windfall, the stoked bloke confessed he had his eyes on a shiny new car.
“Well I’ve got two sons and I’ve already called them to let them know,” he said.
“They thought I was bullsh*ting them but I can’t wait to show them when the prize is paid that I am a millionaire!
“I’m sure I’ll be sharing it with them but I’ll also get something for myself.
“I’m pretty sorted in life but I think I will treat myself to a new Mustang!”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning Keno 10 Spot entry at Eyre Hotel, 39 Playford Ave, Whyalla.
Eyre Hotel venue manager Carl Church said he was thrilled a regular customer had become a millionaire.
“This is the largest Keno prize we’ve ever sold!” he explained.
“Last year we sold a Keno Spot 9 prize worth $100,000 but this one eclipses that one by a long mile!
“It’s a great atmosphere in the venue today as we celebrate a regular and a local becoming a millionaire.”
