A thrilled Collinswood woman has come forward as the mystery winner of the $50,000 Keno Spot 8 prize draw 2284994 on Friday 15 September.

The over-the-moon winner explained she had been out for dinner at the Hampstead Hotel, 143 North East Road, Collinswood, when she purchased the winning ticket.

She said the win add an extra spark to her evening.

“We were at the hotel having dinner when I discovered I had won. They had to pick me up off the floor I was so shocked!” the woman laughed.

“It was so exciting for everyone – we checked and double checked the ticket to make sure I had won.

“We celebrated the win with a round of drinks!”

While she regularly played Keno when “out and about”, the happy winner admitted she didn’t often watch the draw.

“I normally buy one when I am shopping on a Saturday, and when I go out to dinner I’ll get one.

“If we are out and happen to be stopped, I grab one. I usually don’t watch the draw – I think it’s better not to. It’s a nice surprise when you take it up to the counter and find out what happened.

”The thrilled woman confessed the windfall meant she could start planning a long overdue holiday.

“I think I’ll sit it in the bank for a bit, maybe go off on a holiday with my sister next year.

“We’ve been thinking of going on cruise and now we can really look into it instead of just thinking about it.

“I might even fly somewhere, rather than cruise – or I could do both now!”

The winning Spot 8 entry in Keno draw 2284994 was purchased at Hampstead Hotel, 143 North East Road, Collinswood.

Hampstead Hotel duty manager David Richardson said it had been an eventful night at the hotel when the winner discovered her prize.

“It was great fun here! All the staff were jubilant that a regular customer had won!” he exclaimed.

“We were so pleased to have sold a winning ticket and are so happy for the winner!”
