With a Keno draw every 3.5 minutes, it’s not every day that two Spot 8 entries match all 8 numbers in exactly the same draw – but that’s exactly what happened in Keno draw 2245569 just before noon today!

Two Keno players each landed a Spot 8 prize of $50,000 with tickets purchased from newsagents three hours’ drive a part;

  • one sold in the small seaport city of Port Augusta from Orana Lotto & Newsagency, in the Wharflands Plaza, 11 Tassie Street,
  • and the other in Adelaide’s southern suburb of Noarlunga Centre from Colonnades Newsagency, in Centro Colonnades on Beach Road.

PORT AUGUSTA WOMAN WINS $50,000!

A woman from Port Augusta has already claimed one of the $50,000 prizes admitting she second-guessed whether she’d won when she saw someone else had won in the same draw!

“I’ve been playing probably since Keno started and I’ve won a few $1000 but nothing like this! It’s terrific!” she exclaimed.

“I looked at my ticket and at the numbers up on the screen and first of all I thought ‘Oh wow, I hope I’m in that draw!’ and then ‘Could it be?’

“So I was waiting for a winner message to pop up, but then it came up saying someone else in Adelaide had won in that draw, so I was second-guessing if I could be so lucky!

“I got my ticket scanned and it said I’d had a win but not how much, so I went onto the SA Lotteries website when I got into work and oooo yeah there it was!”

She had her plans for her $50,000 windfall already mapped out.

“I’ll use it to pay some off my house I reckon,” she said.

“I’ll probably have a couple of holidays in there too!”

Roylene Noll is a staff member at Orana Lotto & Newsagency and was over the moon for their winning Keno customer.

“Are you serious! Oh my goodness, that’s great news! Go us!” Ms Noll exclaimed.

“We’ve been so busy this afternoon, that we didn’t get a chance to see our name pop up on the Keno screen.

“We’re very happy for our winning Keno customer and hope it happens more often!”

WHO'S WON $50,000 IN NOARLUNGA CENTRE?

While one of the Keno Spot 8 prizes has already been snapped up, it’s anyone’s guess as to who the other $50,000 prize belongs to.

The Keno Spot 8 entry purchased from Colonnades Newsagency was not registered to an Easiplay Club Card so SA Lotteries has no way of alerting the winner to their good fortune.

SA Lotteries encourages anyone who played a Keno Spot 8 entry in Noarlunga Centre to check their tickets today to see if it’s them that’s landed the prize.

Mariah Wilson is a staff member at Colonnades Newsagency and was excited to know one of their customers had cracked the Spot 8 prize.

“We’re not sure who’s won, or who’s sold it! But someone pointed it out to us up on our screen!” Ms Wilson exclaimed.

“Let’s hope they don’t lose the ticket and wander back in soon with it!”

Colonnades Newsagency sold another $50,000 winning Keno Spot 8 entry in February 2016 which was won by a woman from the southern suburbs of Adelaide who said the win was ‘heaven sent’.

Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 8 prize, a player must match all eight of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
