“I cried a lot!”: Seaford woman immobilised by $50,000 Keno win
After discovering she won $50,000 on her Keno ticket, a Seaford woman has confessed she became so emotional she couldn’t drive herself home.
The ecstatic winner scored the Keno Spot 8 prize in draw 210331083, drawn Wednesday 31 March 2021, and takes home $50,000.
Speaking with us, the Adelaide woman explained she had only just begun to calm down after getting the shock of her life.
“I am still very excited,” she laughed.
“I purchased this ticket during the Easter holidays. We were about to go on a holiday and I thought I’d get us a few tickets as a bit of an Easter treat.
“Then yesterday, I remembered I hadn’t checked them yet, so I headed to the newsagency.
“The man working there couldn’t tell me what I’d won, just that it was a good prize.
“For some reason I had it stuck in my head that I must have won about $5,000, but I wanted to double-check, so I had a look online.
“Once I realised I’d actually won $50,000, I cried. I cried a lot, actually.
“I couldn’t stop shaking and crying so my husband had to drive us home.
“I just couldn’t believe it was real! I am still blown away!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the elated South Australian said she had one thing in mind.
“We really want to go and do some travelling around Australia,” she said.
“We might get a caravan and never return again!”
The winning entry was purchased at Seaford Newsagency, Shop 17, Seaford Shopping CentreCnr Commercial Road and The Parade, Seaford.
Seaford Newsagency owners Manish Vinayak and Aarti Markan said they couldn’t be happier for their winner.
“Isn’t that exciting!” Manish said.
“It's great to hear the prize has gone to a local customer.”
“We really hope they enjoy their prize,” Aarti added.
“Good luck to our customers. We hope you can experience a major prize win too.”
