$150,000 Keno Spot 9 win spurs small business ownership for West Croydon man
A family-man from West Croydon has confessed he is still in shock after discovering he had won a $150,000 Keno Spot 9 prize in draw 2284535 on Thursday 14 of September.
The life-changing $150,000 prize is the first Keno Spot 9 win in South Australia to date this calendar year.
Speaking to a SA Lotteries official this afternoon to confirm his prize, the happy Keno winner said the win came as a nice surprise.
“I bought the ticket while I was at the shopping centre, I just picked my numbers at random and didn’t get a chance to check it before I left. We went out for dinner last night and while I was the pub I checked the ticket and got told they couldn’t pay the prize,” the thrilled man explained.
“It wasn’t until I came to claim it from SA Lotteries that I discovered it was $150,000! We are still in shock!”
When asked how he planned to spend his Keno Spot 9 windfall the business minded man said he would put it to entrepreneurial use, after checking with his wife of course.
“We are currently working for someone else, so we’d like to put it towards starting our own small business and be our own boss.”
The winning Spot 9 entry in Keno draw 2284535 was purchased at Welland Plaza Newsagency, shop 13A Welland Plaza Shopping Centre, 522 Port Road, Welland.
George Tong, owner of Welland Plaza Newsagency, said he was thrilled to have sold a winning Keno Spot 9 ticket to one of his regular customers.
“We are so happy and very excited to have sold a winning Spot 9 Keno entry!” he exclaimed.
“It is great to know it was won by a regular customer! We wish them all the best with their prize!”
