Overseas holiday planned for $50,000 Keno Spot 8 winner
A Hyde Park man has exclaimed in disbelief after discovering his Keno Spot 8 entry won him $50,000.
The winning Keno Spot 8 entry in draw 2275500 held on Saturday 19 August 2017 was purchased at Extra Newsagency, 164 King William Road, Hyde Park.
Speaking to a SA Lotteries official this morning, the regular Keno Spot 8 player initially didn’t believe his good fortune.
“Are you kidding me or not? You’re not bulls*itting me are you?” the incredulous man questioned.
“That is fantastic? Did I get the whole eight? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 – yep! I’ve got it!”
The thrilled man explained that he had been playing the same numbers for years.
“Do you know what, I’ve had these numbers for 40 years? The same numbers!” the happy man declared.
“They are birthdays of my family and some lucky numbers – that is just fantastic!
“You’ve just made my day! Thank you very, very much!”
When asked how the winner planned to spend his Keno Spot 8 windfall he admitted he knew exactly what he would do with it.
“Don’t you worry there are plenty of uses for it, I think an overseas trip will go down very nicely!”
Extra Newsagency owner Stavros Tsoleridis said he was thrilled to have sold a winning Keno Spot 8 ticket.
“We were so excited to discover we had sold a winning Keno Spot 8 winning entry,” he said.
“It is fantastic news it was won by a regular customer from the local area.
“Congratulations again to the winner and we wish them all the best with their prize!”
Last financial year, there were 27 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who landed more than $5.98 million. Spot 10 was won twice during this time, remarkably both on the same day, 1 May 2017.
Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80.
To win a Keno Spot 8 prize, a player must match all eight of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
