Newcastle man to tick everything off his bucket list with $1 million Monday Lotto fortune
A Newcastle man will be getting his very first passport and heading overseas when the time is right after this afternoon discovering he became a millionaire overnight.
The New South Wales player held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3972, drawn Monday 11 May 2020, and takes home a division one prize of $1 million.
Confirming the exciting news with us yesterday afternoon, the man explained he’d spent the morning completely oblivious to his million-dollar windfall.
“Yes! Wow!” he exclaimed.
“Oh my god. Amazing!
“That feels amazing. This is incredible. Wow.
“I just went down to the newsagency now and checked the ticket.
“This is incredible. I had absolutely no idea. Wow!
“This is going to change my life in a huge way.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his good fortune, the Newcastle resident said he’d be fulfilling one of his long-held dreams.
“I’ve always wanted to go overseas and travel to Europe so I will certainly be doing that when the time is right,” he shared.
“And I will buy myself a new car. Gosh, I can’t even think about what I will be do with the rest of it right now. It’s just so much to comprehend.
“It will certainly set me up for the rest of my life, there’s no doubt about that.”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning ticket at Nextra Glendale, Shop 33, Stockland Centre, 387 Lake Road, Glendale.
Nextra Glendale team member Noelene Dawes said they were thrilled to sell another division one winning entry.
“It’s always amazing to know you’ve played a part in changing this person’s life,” she said.
