A Greenslopes man admitted that when he got up for a drink of water in the middle of the night, he didn’t expect to also head back to bed with a $1 million Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto win.

The Brisbane resident held the only division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4324, drawn Monday 25 September 2023 and took home $1 million.

This is the second division one winning entry to land in Greenslopes this month. A Greenslopes mother also took home $1 million in Saturday Gold Lotto almost three weeks ago.

“I’d just taken a sip of my water when I decided to check my entry! I nearly dropped the glass on my foot,” the winner laughed when we called to confirm his windfall this morning.

“After that I don’t think I went back to sleep.

“My partner woke up and saw me sitting there and asked, ‘what’s going on, are you alright?’

“I think I just laughed before telling her, ‘I won the lottery!’

“Look, it’s amazing and it’s definitely going to relieve a lot of stress in my life, but it’s also going to allow me to set up my parents too.

“It means I’ll be able to break into the property market and buy my first home. It means so much to me!

“You always dream that something like this will one day happen to you. I just feel so lucky that it actually did!
