Girraween man blissfully unaware of becoming a newly made millionaire while at work
A Girraween man inspired by his father's love for lotteries has woken up to the revelation he’s become a newly minted millionaire in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The Darwin man held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4342, drawn Monday 27 November 2023 and takes home $1 million.
The laid-back man received the call of a lifetime while starting work this morning and admitted he initially had the start of the winning phone call on speakerphone while sitting next to his boss.
“Wow! Won’t you look at that!” he laughed.
“That’s unreal. I’m stoked!
“Dad got me into lotteries and Instant Scratch-Its tickets – I’ve got him to thank!
“I’m at work, and when you called, I was sitting next to my boss. I thought maybe it was a scam call, so I had it on speaker. I quickly turned it off speaker and now here we are!
“I marked these lottery numbers a long time ago and I’ve played the same ticket over and over.
“These are my lucky numbers now.
“It might be hard to concentrate today.”
With the prospects of a lavish holiday, brand-new car or paid off mortgage on the horizon, the Northern Territory resident immediately had one thing in mind.
“I’ll look to invest in property – like most people,” he shared.
“I’ll have to enjoy a celebratory drink tonight.”
His winning marked 18-game entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
