Lotto lightning strikes twice! Blacktown newsagency sells two $1 million winning tickets in the same draw
In a surprising turn of events, a Blacktown newsagency sold two division one winning entries won nationally in a recent Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
Two New South Wales players, with no correlation to each other, held a division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4361, drawn Wednesday 31 January 2024. They each took home a $1 million prize.
One of the New South Wales winners was a Mount Druitt man who couldn’t wait to tell his wife he had bagged $1 million in the Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw, while the other winner wished to remain completely anonymous.
The Mount Druitt man was initially sceptical of his win when he received a letter from The Lott in the mail however, his disbelief soon became pure joy once his windfall was confirmed.
“Thank you very much! I wish I was younger, but I can’t complain!” he joked.
“It’s great news.
“I received a letter in the mail from The Lott and I thought it was a scam.
“I’ve been scammed before so it I didn’t want to make that mistake again.
“That’s when we took it to the newsagency and realised it was real!
“I can’t wait to celebrate with my wife and let her know the good news.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
His winning entry, along with the second anonymous winning entry, was purchased from AK Newstalk, Shop 1004, 17 Patrick St, Blacktown.
The AK Newstalk team were over the moon to find out they had sold two division one winning entries in the same draw and revealed they initially thought the tickets must have belonged to the same person.
The team congratulated their winners and wished them both all the best with their prize.
