A Redcliffe shopper has had their life turned upside down in the best way imaginable after finally checking their ticket and discovering their $1 million win in Monday & Wednesday Lotto – three weeks after the draw.

The Moreton Bay player held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4315, drawn Wednesday 23 August 2023 and took home $1 million.

The winning entry was not registered to a player card, which meant we had no way of notifying the winner of their life-changing win and had to wait for them to check their ticket.

However, how they plan to spend their windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.

The winning ticket was purchased at Midway News, Shop 2, 544 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe.

Midway News owner Deepak Rawat said he was over the moon to have sold a division one winning entry in late August and is glad the winner has come forward to claim their prize.

“We couldn’t believe the news when we found out we’d sold a division one winning entry in a recent Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw,” he said.

“It’s a good feeling to sell a division one winning ticket and our customers have been so happy to hear the winning news when they visit us in-store.

“The last time we sold a major winning ticket was last year when one of our customers took home a $50,000 top prize win on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
