Deniliquin woman’s $875,000 Saturday Lotto win a sign of good things to come
A Deniliquin woman believes her family’s fortunes are changing for the better after this morning realising she won more than $875,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Riverina region resident held one of the six division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4301, drawn Saturday 8 October 2022 and took home a division one prize of $875,660.18.
“It’s been a good morning!” the woman exclaimed.
“I wasn’t expecting this! Beautiful!
“I don’t know how we picked the numbers – we were just sitting around and came up with them.
“This morning, word zipped around town pretty quickly that there was a division one winner.
“We checked our ticket and there it was. I’m still going, ‘what?!’.”
The Deniliquin resident admitted she had yet to make any concrete plans for her prize.
“It’s been a tough few years. This takes a lot of pressure off,” she said.
“Hopefully, it’s a sign that our fortunes are changing!
“I’m not sure exactly what we’ll do with it, but it’s very welcome!”
Her winning entry was purchased at Deniliquin Newsagency and Bookstore, 247-249 Cressy Street, Deniliquin.
Deniliquin Newsagency and Bookstore owner Mark Ritchie said the win had created a real buzz in town.
“It doesn’t take long for word to spread. There’s been a few people coming in asking, ‘Is it me? Is it me?’,” he said.
“We hadn’t sold a division one winning entry for more than a decade. I was only saying to someone the other day we were due for one, and now it’s arrived.
“This shows we can sell a division one winning entry and we can’t wait to do it again.
“We wish our winner all the very best with their windfall.”
