Nine Strathfield workmates are this afternoon learning their long-running syndicate scored division one in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The Western Sydney group held one of the 10 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4099 drawn Saturday 31 October 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $2 million.

Confirming the overwhelming news with us this afternoon, the syndicate leader explained he’d have trouble breaking the news to his colleagues.

“Thank you,” he said.

“I’m in shock. I can’t believe it.

“It’s a work syndicate; nine people are in it.

“We’ve been playing together for around four years now. We don’t play every week, just from time to time.

“No one is going to believe me! I can promise you that.

“I’m going to have a hard time convincing everyone that this news is true!”

When asked how he thought he might enjoy his share of the prize worth $222,222.22, the man explained it would set him up for the future.

“I’m going to put it towards buying myself a house,” he said.

“This will really help me get ahead.

“I’m going to head to work now to break the news to everyone!

“I can’t wait to celebrate with all of them.”

The multi-million-dollar winning entry was purchased at Strathfield Plaza Newsagency, Shop 43 & 44, Strathfield Plaza, 11 The Boulevarde, Strathfield.

Strathfield Plaza Newsagency owner Ramesh Sethurao said he was excited to see his outlet sell another life-changing ticket.

“This is the fourth division one winning entry we’ve sold over the past 10 years,” he said.

“We’re celebrating this exciting milestone in-store with our customers.

“Our customers are so happy for our latest winners and are hoping they’ll be next!

“Congratulations to our winners, we wish them all the very best with their prize.”
