After coming home from a party on Saturday night, a Mornington man planned to go straight to sleep – that was until he discovered he’d won $1.9 million in TattsLotto.

The Melburnian held one of the three division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4241, drawn Saturday 12 March 2022. Each entry takes home $1,967,364.65.

Confirming his win with us this morning, the winner admitted he was still coming to terms with the news. 

“I found out around midnight on Saturday night,” he explained.

“I was still awake because we’d been at a party with our friends. When the party was over, and I was getting ready for bed, I decided to check my ticket, just out of curiosity, and that’s when I found out.

“My wife was in another room, so I screamed at her to come and check. It took me a couple of minutes to comprehend what I was seeing.

“I didn’t expect it at all. You constantly dream of winning, but you never think it’ll happen. But this is my reality now – I did win!

“I can’t express my feelings. But I feel so much happiness. I could scream, I’m so happy! I’m bursting with joy!

“We couldn’t sleep after we found out, so we had some wine and stayed up to plan what to do with our prize.

“The first thing we’ve planned is to pay off our mortgage; then, I’d like to consider starting my own business or getting a new job.

“I want my wife to relax, as she still works, so hopefully, this means she can either retire or go part-time. She loves spending time with the kids, so I know that would mean a lot to her.

“Then we’d love to travel overseas. We’ve been thinking we might make a big trip through Asia at some point.

“This prize gives us the ultimate relief. It’s made us incredibly happy. Thank you so much.”

The winning man purchased his entry at Spring Hill News, Shop 7 Springhill Shopping Centre

1370 Thompson Road, Cranbourne.
