“I’m going to remember every nanosecond of this day!”: Kiama man savours $900,000 Lotto revelation
A Kiama man has declared he won’t forget a moment of the day he discovered his Saturday Lotto division one windfall.
The New South Wales South Coast resident held one of the six division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4289, drawn Saturday 27 August 2022. Each entry pocketed a division one prize of $919,703.64.
“All I can say is, ‘f***ing unbelievable!’,” the winner shouted when his win was confirmed by us.
“It still hasn’t sunk in, mate, honestly.
“I’ve been keeping the ticket safe. Even when I go to the toilet, it goes with me.
“I was just walking past the newsagency on Saturday and thought, ‘stuff it’, and I got this ticket.
“When I found out I’d won, the old blood pressure went up a bit and I couldn’t stop swearing!
“Every nanosecond of this day I’ll remember for the rest of my life!”
Amid the excitement, the ecstatic man shared some initial plans for his prize.
“I’m going to keep working, because you’ve got to do something,” he explained.
“But maybe I won’t be working as much as before.
“I’m going to spend a little bit on the house to do a few things, but then I want to have a good think about how best to use the rest.”
His winning 50-game QuickPick was purchased at Kiama Fair Newsagency, Shop 4, 135 Terralong Street, Kiama.
Kiama Fair Newsagency owner Mark Gladman said he was thrilled to see one of his customers walk away a winner.
“We’ve been telling our customers that dreams really do come true!” he said.
“We’re so happy to see a winner locally and also hoping for lighting to strike twice in the same place and have another division one win soon.
“This is our second division one win during the 23 years we’ve been here. The last one was in 2013 when a $15 million Oz Lotto prize was won by a local.
“A huge congrats to our winner. Take your time deciding how to use this win to change your life!”
