“I feel like I’m in a dream!”: Morayfield mum brought to tears by ‘heaven-sent’ $733,000 Saturday Gold Lotto win
A Morayfield woman has described her $733,000 division one win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw as ‘heaven-sent’ after the passing of a family member.
The Queenslander held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4299, drawn Saturday 1 October 2022 and took home a total division one prize of $733,492.92.
So far in 2022, there have been nine major lottery prizes in the Moreton Bay region that have collectively taken home more than $8.88 million in prize money.
When we confirmed the prize with the Moreton Bay resident, she immediately burst into tears.
“Things like this never happen to us,” she joyfully cried.
“It’s life-changing — a lot to process!
“I feel like I’m in a dream and I’m trying to wake up!
“I checked the ticket a thousand times to make sure it was true!
“I also sent a photo of the winning ticket to my husband and son to double check. It’s crazy.
“We’ve been battlers our whole life. I’m retired now, but my husband still slogs away at work. This will really take the pressure off everything.
“I feel as though my beloved late parents are looking down on me this morning. They always dreamt of winning big one day in Lotto. They did this for me.
“It’s really special!”
With more than $733,000 about to boost her bank account, the warm-hearted woman said she had three plans with her prize.
“We’ve always wanted to buy a caravan and travel around Australia, so we can do that now!” she explained.
“We’ll also arrange to do some renovations around the house. It’s been a long time coming.
“Most importantly, we will help our family that means the most to us — our children and their partners.”
Her winning entry was purchased at Nextra Morayfield Plaza News, Shop 38 Morayfield Shopping Centre, 171 Morayfield Road, Morayfield.
