Forest Lake’s newest millionaire can’t wait to share Saturday Gold Lotto win with his kids
A Forest Lake man can’t wait to share his multi-million dollar Saturday Gold Lotto prize with those at the top of his Lotto List – his adult children.
The man held one of the seven division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3889 on 27 October 2018. Each entry takes home the division one prize of $2,857,142.86.
When we spoke with the happy winner, he recounted the moment he discovered he was more than $2.8 million richer.
“I knew Saturday night. I was watching the draw on television. It was pretty exciting to see those numbers come up!” he said.
“I knew I had won as they were special numbers – birthdates and other numbers like that.
“I started ringing my kids to tell them I’d won.
“It’s just wonderful news.”
When asked how he would use his windfall, the regular Saturday Gold Lotto player had no hesitation.
“I want to share it with my kids. That’s the first thing I’m going to do,” he declared.
“As for the rest, I will think about it. Maybe a trip to Europe to visit some family.”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his marked 18-game entry at Nextra Forest Lake News, Shop 23-24, Forest Lake Village Shopping Centre, Forest Lake Boulevard, Forest Lake.
Nextra Forest Lake News owner Florence Jones said the outlet was happily celebrating its second division one win in three years.
“We’ve done it again,” she exclaimed.
“I wish it was me! But it’s very exciting for the outlet. Our last division one win was in November 2015, so we felt we were due for another one.
“We hope our winner enjoys their prize.”
