Newcastle man blown away by surprise $1.8 million Saturday Lotto win
A Newcastle man has admitted he hasn’t slept more than a few minutes here and there since discovering he’d bagged an incredible $1.8 million win in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Central Coast resident held one of the three division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4345, drawn Saturday 11 March 2023. Each division one winning entry won $1,845,890.33.
“Oh mate! This is amazing, I won’t be knocking back this win!” the elated man laughed when we called to confirm his win.
“I haven’t slept all that much since I discovered the win. There’s just so many thoughts running through my head.
“To be honest, I was expecting to win a lot less than I have. I’m in complete shock.
“I’ll do my best to celebrate accordingly! I’m staring at my TV right now, and I think it’s time I upgraded that.
“I’ve got a car, but I might go and get two more! Who knows?
“My wife and I are growing older too, so it might be time to make some renovations to our home.
“I can’t decide! There are so many things I could do with this!
“Thank you so much.”
The winning man’s 10-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Greenhills Newsagency, Shop 39, Stockland Shopping Centre, Greenhills, East Maitland.
Greenhills Newsagency owner Allen Kavanagh said he’d sold a number of division one winning entries in his time, but the feeling of helping someone in the community never got old.
“It’s always an incredible feeling to know we’ve played a part in changing someone’s life,” he said.
“We’re all over the moon for our customer and wish them all the best.
“I hope they celebrate this incredible win and have a fantastic time spending their prize!”
