“I’m pleased I’m sitting down!” Rothwell woman floored by $1.3 million Saturday Gold Lotto windfall
A Rothwell woman has declared she’ll be flying up the front end of the plane from now on, saying it’ll be business class or nothing after bagging more than $1.3 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Queenslander held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4383, drawn Saturday 22 July 2023, and pocketed $1,311,018.49.
“Oh my god! Oh my god! What?” the winning woman yelled when we called with news of her wonderful win.
“That is amazing! I’m pleased I’m sitting down!
“We’re in the process of building a new house too. Oh, this is perfect.
“Regardless of what we decide to do with the house now, we’ll be mortgage and debt free, I can’t believe it.
“I tell you what, it’s also going to make retirement so much easier for us.
“We want to travel a lot too in the next couple of years, so this win means we won’t have to worry about how to afford it now.
“We’ll be flying business class too!
“Of course, I must share it with my children too. It means they’ll be able to purchase their own homes, which is fantastic.
“The last bit of the prize will go to charity. I’m not sure which one yet, but I feel like it’s the right thing to do given we’ve obviously been so fortunate.”
Her winning 12-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Nextra Booval Fair, Shop 510-53 Booval Fair, Corner Brisbane Road and South Station Road, Booval.
