A Hamilton couple admits they haven’t slept a wink since checking their TattsLotto ticket over the weekend and discovering they’d won an incredible $831,000.

The Victorians held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4209, drawn Saturday 20 November 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $831,613.44.

Speaking with us this morning, the delighted husband divulged how the excitement unfolded.

“I’d been out with my wife, and we’d just gotten home when she decided to check our TattsLotto ticket,” he explained.

“After she checked it, she just looked at me blankly and said, ‘come and have a look at this’.

“We couldn’t believe it, honestly! I kept saying, ‘Check it again! Are you sure? No, it can’t be!’.
“We checked the ticket on the website and the app. Then we re-watched the draw, and we looked up the winning numbers too.

“We checked the ticket over and over again. It’s so overwhelming.

“We haven’t slept a wink since then. We’re going out of our minds. It’s insane!

“We’ve been surviving off the excitement and a whole lot of coffee.

“I think we might have to buy a really nice bottle of champagne to celebrate now you’ve confirmed this is real.”

When asked how they intended to enjoy their windfall, the sleep-deprived man said a lack of sleep meant plenty of planning.

“We’ve been meaning to do some renovations on our home for years, so that sort of thing will be done now.” he shared.

“It’ll be nice to start thinking about some overseas travel too. We’d love to go visit some of our friends.”

The life-changing entry was purchased at Slade's Hamilton Newsagency & Lotto, 150 Gray Street, Hamilton.

Slade's Hamilton Newsagency & Lotto owner Chris Slade said her entire team was celebrating the division one win.

"I was really excited when I received the news that we’d sold another division one winning entry at our store. I told all of our staff members immediately,” she said.

“It was awesome to have made another one of our player’s dreams come true just in time for Christmas. This is our fifth division one win since taking over the outlet 13 years ago.

“There will no doubt be great excitement around our town when this life-changing news spreads. It's wonderful to have some good news to share!

“We wish the winners all the best for the future and hope they enjoy their sudden windfall.”
