Tears of joy for West Wyalong hospital worker after million-dollar discovery
A West Wyalong hospital worker says she’s spent the past 24 hours crying with happiness after discovering she won almost $1.5 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto Superdraw.
The New South Wales player held one of the 14 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3963 on Saturday 13 July 2019, with each entry taking home a division one prize of $1,428,571.43.
Confirming her win with us this morning, the woman revealed she’d been overwhelmed with emotion since making the million-dollar discovery.
“Wow that is just beautiful!” she cried.
“Thank you very much.
“I started crying yesterday morning when I checked my entry online and I haven’t stopped crying since!
“I still can’t get over it! I kept looking at the results all day!
“At first I thought I’d won $1,000. When I realised it was almost $1.5 million I just burst into tears.
“I’m so happy I’ve shared it with 13 other people - how wonderful is that!”
The woman revealed she’d worked hard her whole life at the local hospital and had plenty of plans for her fortune as a newly minted millionaire.
“I’m going to buy myself a new home,” she declared.
“I’ll be able to help my family and give to charity of course.
“I’ve saved madly for holidays all my life so I will be going on plenty more holidays, starting with England.
“I don’t think I will retire just yet. I might keep working for a couple more years.”
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
