Why did Saturday Lotto jackpot?
Saturday Lotto is a game of chance where you can win a share in the division one prize pool by matching six numbers in a single game panel to the six winning numbers drawn from the game barrel. 

If no entry has all six winning numbers needed to score division one, then the game jackpots.

It’s possible for the game to jackpot at any time, however, most weeks (and by most, we mean every week for the last 191 draws) we do see one or more winners take out the division one prize. Many of these winners become overnight millionaires, or even multi-millionaires.

The division one prize eluding Aussies over the weekend has sparked a rare but exciting event for Saturday Lotto and reminds us that sometimes, the only thing you can expect is the unexpected!

Has this happened before?
Yes, Saturday Lotto has jackpotted in the past. 

The last time this occurred was in August 2016 when the division one prize pool climbed to $8 million. On that occasion, the jackpot enjoyed a thrilling week at this new height before four winning entries shared the jackpot prize and scored $2.17 million each in the special $8 million draw. 

Aside from special event draws such as Million-YEAH Saturday, Superdraws and Megadraws, the $8 million division one jackpot is the highest Saturday Lotto offering we’ve seen in the last decade. 

What happens now? 
For the upcoming draw, draw 4045 on Saturday 25 April 2020, the division one prize pool has effectively doubled and players across the country will have the chance to win a share in an estimated $8 million. 

How the game is played remains exactly the same, so we’ll be eagerly waiting to see who has all six winning numbers needed to score that coveted division one prize!
