2020 to be a game changer for Hobart woman after Monday Lotto win
A Hobart woman has described her million-dollar Monday Lotto windfall as “surreal”, revealing her mum prompted her to check her winning ticket.
The Tasmanian player held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3928, drawn Monday 9 December 2019 and takes home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
Confirming her win with us this morning, the woman said she’d spent yesterday oblivious to her win.
“This is surreal,” she cried with happiness.
“Thank you so much.
“My mum realised last night. She knew what numbers I played and called me straight away. They are special numbers to me and even more special now!
“Then I checked my ticket online. I thought I was seeing things.
“I’ve been playing for years. I can’t believe it!
“I’m still waiting for the news to sink in.
“This is incredible!” When asked how she planned to enjoy her win, the woman said she was ready to enjoy the best year of her life.
“I’m going to have to really think about it,” she said.
“I will definitely share it with my family.
“It’s certainly going to change 2020 for me, that’s for sure!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her million-dollar winning entry at Cove Hill Newsagency.
Cove Hill Newsagency owner Ted Slater said it was always special to see his customers win life-changing prizes.
“We are so happy for our customer,” he said.
“They are a local and regular customer who we have known a long time.
“We’ve sold plenty of division one winning entries over the years and it’s always so special to see these huge prizes land in our community and go to locals.
“Congratulations to her! We will know this prize will be truly life changing.”
