Workmates no more thanks to $2 million TattsLotto win
A pair of Traralgon workmates will soon say goodbye to sharing gossip around the watercooler after their private syndicate scored them a division one prize of $2 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The duo held one of the 10 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4071, drawn Saturday 25 July 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $2 million.
Sharing his excitement with us this morning, the syndicate leader confessed it would be hard to concentrate for the rest of the workday.
“The ticket is actually a syndicate with a woman I work with and myself,” he explained.
“We run a bit of a social club, and we buy tickets here and there. We usually buy one ticket each week but always into different games.
“We didn’t realise we had won until we got into the office and checked the ticket this morning.
“We’re both still in shock. It will be hard to concentrate for the rest of the day!”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their futures as millionaires, the happy winners revealed they would no longer be workmates.
“I’ll definitely use my share to pay off my mortgage,” the winner declared.
“I’ll keep working, but my workmate is going to retire with her share.”
The happy pair, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry at Plaza Lotto, Kiosk 4, Stocklands Traralgon, 166-168 Franklin Street, Traralgon.
Plaza Lotto owner Bobbie Hutchison said she was thrilled to have sold the outlet’s second division one winning entry in nine months.
“We are so excited to have sold another division one winning entry so soon after the last one!” she exclaimed.
“We’ve been telling all of our customers and they are really excited we’ve sold another one too.
“It’s great news for our customers and the local area.
“Congratulations to our winners. We are really happy for them!
“We hope they continue to play every week with us!”
